WebJan 15, 2011 · Gameplay of Sonic 3 (as well as S3&K) is a drastic departure from Sonic 1 & 2. Gone is the constant speed sequences of Sonic 2. Speed sequences are now intermittent, and broken up by slower gameplay. Vines catch you and slow you down, until you break free, for example. The wind-blowing roosters stop ur speed as well.

I prefer the drawing style of sonic + tails in sonic 2 over s3 + k. Sonic 2 plays much faster than s3 + k giving you more of that "sonic" feeling.
